As the month of my 60th birthday approached, I once again started to notice a return to that old, familiar state of feeling physically “slugged out” and generally unmotivated. Much as I hated to admit, it was looking pretty clear to me that all those “bad” habits I had been resisting for most of my life (despite repeated, periodic attempts to overcome them) were becoming more and more entrenched as my “lifestyle”.

I was eating more, sleeping more and getting less exercise than ever. Daily aches and pains were more prevalent and even routine. The expression “just getting older” lingered in the recesses of my mind, offering me the very excuse I needed to either continue ignoring the situation or to make no more than minimal, short-lived attempts at turning things around.

Over the next few weeks I contemplated my future picture more seriously. I was finally beginning to realize that, unless I actually decided to place more positive attention on my body, I could expect either more of the same (at best) or a continuing decline in the state of my health (most likely).

During my internal debate about how to adjust my “lifestyle” to actually support me into the future, I happened to have an inspiring conversation about health with Dr. Joe Dockery. The ideas he shared with me, and the Eight Weeks-to-Wellness Program he was offering, felt instinctively like a good, holistic approach to helping me make the changes I was starting to envision.

Making the decision to sign up for 8-WW and to do the work was an important turning point for me. From the very beginning of the Program, even though depleted energy levels and a general malaise kept tugging at me, I felt a non-judgmental, unconditional support from Dr. Dockery and his entire professional team. Over those eight weeks they worked tirelessly together with me to help reduce my stress levels, greatly improve my physical strength, stamina, eating habits and (as a wonderful byproduct) my overall outlook on life.

I feel certain that my experience with 8-WW has given me a sensible, solid foundation from which to move forward. I am now creating a permanent, personal transformation that I not only can maintain but want to - for the rest of my lifeMy next life chapter has definitely begun, and I wish everyone to have as Happy a Birthday as I had this year! Thanks Joe and Team!

Best Regards,

Rebecca
