The Program

What is Wellness and How do I Attain it Lecture/Discussion - the Jump Start to Wellness program begins with a lecture on the body's requirements regarding normal function.  We are animals, and we do not transcend the laws of nature just because we are human animals.  Learn how our bodies are made to maintain health and vitality, and how simple it is to tap into that powerful resource.

Initial Evaluation:  Health is far more than the absence of symptoms and disease.  How often do you hear of someone suffering a heart attack when the day before they felt "fine".  Well, they weren't fine, and we'd like you to see how susceptible you may be to suffering an illness or disease.  Through a detailed questionnaire and functional examination Dr. Dockery will give you an idea as to where you stand regarding your susceptabiltiy to illness and disease. 

Nutrition Basics Mini-Course - Learn how our current popular western diet is at the core of many of society's health problems, including heart disease, type II diabetes, some cancers, and many other conditions and diseases.  We will teach you how whole foods empower the body to fight off disease and help manage your weight.  Healthy menu choices will be discussed regarding breakfast, lunch, supper, desserts and snacks.  You will learn that it's not the amount of food you eat that is the problem it is the type of food you eat that directly affects your health. 

Physical Fitness - You will schedule two personal training sessions per week with Christine Flory, our professionally educated trainer, in our new physical fitness training room.  Our aim is to decrease your fat mass and increase your lean body mass.  We also will train with daily activities in mind.  In other words, the goal is to enable you to move throughout your day with more energy, power, and ease.

Chiropractic Adjustments - You will also receive one chiropractic adjustment per week.  Proper alignment of the spine is essential in allowing your brain to communicate most effectively with the organs and tissues of the body in order to coordinate the functions that allow us to adapt to our environment.  Healing comes from within.  You are healing yourself every minute of every day and the brain coordinates most of that healing activity.  Misalignments of the spine interfere with this communication causing you to become susceptible to what we call "dis-ease", a state which is a precursor to illness and disease.

Jump Start to Wellness Plus! includes all of the above along with one massage each week from one of our professionally licensed massage therapists.

Dr. Dockery's Dedication - Dr. Dockery's passion remains focused on the chiropractic principle that our world and our bodies are organized, and if we simply work in concert with that organization then health and healing will naturally follow.  Dr. Dockery is dedicated to presenting the proper and necessary tools, along with the motivation, for you to be successful in this program.
